Springboks get their name from their habit of
‘stotting’
or ‘pronking’ (a succession of vertical leaps with all
four legs held stiffly close together, the back is
curved, head down).
Habitat:
Dry grasslands.
Threats:
Excessive hunting, overgrazing of their habitat and habitat loss.
Range:
Botswana, Angola, Namibia and South Africa.
